Creation of a student account means that the student is aware of and accepts MTSU's published policies and procedures, including:

Save Time On Passwords (STOP)
When activating your computing account, you will be prompted to create a password. If the password you create fails the verification procedure, you will have to start over. The verification procedure is in place as a security measure.
STOP and check your password for the following:
- At least eight (8) characters
- At least one letter AND one number AND one uppercase letter (Note: Your password will be case-sensitive)
- Does not contain any pattern found in your username (Example: username itd5d can't use t5d12345 as a password)
- Does not contain any pattern found in the dictionary
- Does not contain any repeating characters or character groupings
How it works:
- You have to be currently admitted or admitted on probation to MTSU to use a student computing account on the academic server, "frank."
- You must activate your account before you can use either e-mail or web space services

Activating your account:
To activate the account, go to http://www.mtsu.edu/passwords.shtml, click on the link for a computing account and enter the requested information. The username and password you receive will be required to access frank, e-mail, and other computer-related tools.
