Pre-Health Information Management
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The Pre-Health Information Management program prepares individuals to enter the medical record administration program at the University of Tennessee Center for the Health Sciences in Memphis, Tennessee State University or other accredited HIM programs.
EMPLOYMENT OBJECTIVE: Health Information Manager
DESCRIPTION OF HEALTH CAREER: Medical Records Administrators combine knowledge of a broad number of disciplines to provide high quality health information services in a variety of health care settings. They must be knowledgeable in medical terminology, data processing, medical science, health care administration, and medical record science.
LENGTH OF PROGRAM: 75-90 semester hours at MTSU and 1 year in a Health Information Management program.
