Career Fair by ASNY
Every winter the Actuarial Society of Greater New York
holds a Career Fair in NYC. This year, AMSA will be sending three students,
Chance Phelps, Dipti Natha, and Benvictor Sang, to the Career Fair in Manhattan.
These students will meet with representatives in the actuarial field in order to
bring information back to MTSU students about various opportunities around the
country.

Guest Speaker: Brian LePage, Caterpillar Financial Services
Corporation
Once a month we invite a speaker from a
Nashville actuarial firm. Brian LePage (ACAS, MAAA, and a
member of the MTSU Actuarial
Science Advisory Council) will tell students about Caterpillar Insurance
and insight on being an actuary. Most speakers in the past have
taken resumes from students to consider them for internships or
jobs. It might be good idea to bring your most recent
resume.
Mr. LePage will give a presentation for
about 45 minutes, and the total meeting will last anywhere from
55 minutes to 75 minutes. If you need to come in late or
leave early, feel free.

AMSA's Luck of MTSU Fundraiser
For the months of February and March, AMSA members will be
selling tickets for our Luck of MTSU fundraiser.
Thurs. February 1st - 4:00PM
General Meeting
This meeting will be to pass out any materials for the
Luck of MTSU Fundraiser to AMSA members. The meeting will start at 4:00PM in KOM 205.
Make sure you attend, since this meeting will be enable
our large scale fundraiser to operate smoothly.
Thurs. February 7th - 8:00AM to 3:00PM
Chair of Insurance Career Fair
This is the annual Career Fair that Dr. Hollman organizes for
any students interested in the insurance industry. You will have the opportunity
to see positions that are available for actuarial students at some regional insurance
companies like Blue Cross/Blue Shield. There will be around 25 recruiters in
attendance. The fair will take place from 8AM to 3PM in KUC 322.
Thurs. February 22nd - 2:00PM
Guest Speaker: Mary Frances Miller, Select Actuarial Services
Once a month we invite a speaker from a
Nashville actuarial firm. Mary Frances Miller (FCAS, MAAA, and a
member of the MTSU Actuarial
Science Advisory Council) will tell students about
Select Actuarial Services and insight into being an actuary.

During March we will continue to sell tickets for our fundraiser.

Guest Speakers: Matthew Canada and Actuarial Staff, Blue Cross/Blue Sheild of TN
Once a month we invite a speaker from a
Nashville actuarial firm. Matthew Canada will tell students about Blue Cross/Blue Sheild
and about career opportunities and internships with the company. Most speakers in the past have
taken resumes from students to consider them for internships or
jobs. Dr. Hong has already submitted resumes to the company, so they might be doing some on sight
interviews that morning. You will be contacted beforehand if you are to be interviewed.
Mr. Canada will give a presentation for
about 45 minutes, and the total meeting will last anywhere from
55 minutes to 75 minutes. If you need to come in late or
leave early, feel free.

Guest Speaker: Bill Wilkins, First Acceptance Insurance

During April we will begin sending out prizes for winning tickets
based off of the Tennessee CASH 3 daily drawings.
