Art Education

The Art Department at Middle Tennessee State University provides a quality degree program for those seeking to become certified K-12 public and private school art educators. Our Bachelor of Science degree allows students to engage in-depth in a wide range of studio processes, to obtain a solid art history foundation, and to further develop their pedagogical skills through a core of specialized art education courses. Students enrich their professional training by participating in the student chapter of the National Art Education Association. The student chapter regularly attends both the national and state conferences. In addition, students are encouraged to become involved in art outreach programs in the community.
