Major: Business Education
Teacher Certification Option
This program leads to a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree and
to the State of Tennessee Teaching Certificate.
A person completing this degree is eligible to teach business
subjects in junior and secondary high schools and technology centers.
The licensed Business Education major will have a minor in business
administration and a minor in secondary education.
Licensure
The Business Education major will be licensed to teach business
and business technology courses such as:
- Accounting
- Document Creation and Design
- American Business Legal Systems
- Administrative Management Systems
- Economics
- Internet Navigation and Communication
- Principles of Business
- Interactive Multimedia Design Systems
- Management
Undergraduate students may add-on a Marketing Education endorsement
to Business/Business Technology certification.

Non-Teaching Option
This program leads to a Bachelor of Science degree. Individuals
can select a non-teaching option and choose to specialize in training
and development in business and industry. Students who select
this option earn a business administration minor.

This interdisciplinary major leads to a Bachelor of Business
Administration (B.B.A.) degree. The program offers preparation
for successful venture creation and implementation and provides
opportunities for acquiring the knowledge needed to start a new
enterprise.
Courses in entrepreneurship, business plan development, and small
business ventures as well as in business communication, marketing,
finance, management, economics, accounting, and information systems
are included. The curriculum is flexible and allows students to
interact with successful professionals.

Major: Office Management
This program leads to a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.)
degree. Office management majors receive preparation to become
office managers, word processing managers, and administrative
assistants in business and industry. The B.B.A. program offers
preparation for support positions in other business areas such
as banking, real estate, and management.
Work Toward a Graduate
Degree
Successful completion of the B.B.A. or B.S. degree provides students
with the necessary business core to enter the Master of Business
Administration (M.B.A.) or the Master of Business Education (M.B.E.)
program following graduation.
