“Match Game” was one of the, if not the, most popular game show of the 1970s. In the game, two contestants would take alternating turns in trying to match as many of the six celebrity panelists’ responses to fill-in-the-blank sentences as possible. The show ran from 1973 until 1982 in three different incarnations: “Match Game ’73-’79”, “Match Game PM”, and the syndicated “Match Game.” The series lasted for 2,210 episodes. |
