There are a number of opportunities for students to present their work to interested audiences. These may include oral presentations or poster sessions at national conferences. Such venues provide students with valuable experience in discussing their findings with peer audiences, thinking on their feet and responding to questions that others may pose. For students presenting papers in national venues, travel assistance is often available from the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs.

Students should take advantage of varied opportunities, beginning with on-campus venues to provide practice and sharpen presentation skills. Some of these include award competitions that could be potentially rewarding financially.
