You must be enrolled in both lecture (GEOL1030, 3 credit
hours) & lab (GEOL-1031, 1 credit hour)

Attendance is required & taken

readings are required for every class period

if you haven't already done so, you must buy the textbook:

GEOL1030 involves both lecture & in-class discussion

Buy lab book and lab kit before attending first laboratory
session

Note: If you don't already know the date of your first lab
meeting (it varies from semester to semester), contact Karen Dunkley, Geosciences
faculty secretary (898-2726) or look around for signs in KOM hallways &
classrooms.

for answers to administrative questions

No "extra-credit." If you can't succeed in doing the available
work,
why ask for something extra? -- instead get started TODAY focusing on the
available credit!

TELS (Tennessee Education
Lottery Scholarship) program recipients: You need to maintain a specific
GPA and class load to keep your scholarship.

If you fail to do so, you may never again be eligible for
the TELS program.

Attendance policy
Attendance is mandatory, & will play a role in your final
grade
Attendance is taken via i>clicker.
i>clicker use will also serve as your record of attendance
for government financial aid purposes
YOU bear responsibility for problems caused by skipping class
(e.g. "missed exam," "studied wrong thing")
