Tennessee Geologic History Objectives -
- Recognize the relationship between orogenic activity, sea level and rock type.
- Understand the presence or absence of a rock record in Tennessee for specific time intervals and relate these to the events that formed them.
- List and describe the large-scale physiographic regions of TN and the geology found therein.
- Describe the relationship between rock type and physiography for each of the major physiographic regions of TN.
NOTE: When you are done studying these webpages, which discuss the geology of Tennessee, you should be able to fulfill all of the objectives listed above.
