Second International Conference on Cultural Diversity:
Communicating in a Multicultural Environment

Call for Papers and Participation

The Second International Conference on Cultural Diversity will be held on November 3-5, 2005 at the Sheraton Downtown Hotel in Nashville, TN. The theme of the conference is “Communicating in a Multicultural Environment” and will focus on developing cultural competence as we interact and communicate with people of diverse backgrounds in various environments. Pre-conference activities will be held on Wednesday, November 2 nd on the campus of Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, TN. Papers and Proposals

Papers and proposals in the area of cultural diversity are solicited. Of particular interest are topics related to the theme of communicating in multicultural environments such as with other individuals or in the classroom, home, media, and the workplace. Student papers are strongly encouraged; student submissions should be designated on the cover page. Receipt deadline is August 15, 2005.

 

Submissions should be double-spaced with 12 point font and may not exceed 20 pages in length inclusive of the abstract page, text, tables, figures, etc. and all references. All papers must include an abstract page (75-100 words). Papers will be blind reviewed for acceptance by a committee of academic and business professionals. All papers accepted will be published in the conference proceedings.

Proposals should include a list of all the participants and their roles, 1-3 page overview of the purpose of the proposal, and a 1-3 page description of each participant’s presentation. Proposals are not blind-reviewed.
