The New Jersey SHPO is not involved with heritage education activity at this time, although they do provide general information regarding historic architecture, national register properties, historic farms, community history, genealogy, historic sites, and historic preservation upon request.

The New Jersey Historical Society provides heritage education programs and services, especially related to historic architecture, historic documents, community history, family history, and objects and artifacts. A history newspaper, the "Jersey Journal" is published monthly during the school year, and comes with a teachers' guide for using the newspaper in the classroom. A variety of programs are available for school groups, grades K-12, and are available at a small charge. After school and summer programs are also available.
