Van Hein, Ph.D. Dr.
Van Hein is an Associate Professor of Psychology at
Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU). She teaches
employee selection, compensation, and general psychology.
She received her Ph.D. in industrial/organizational
psychology from Georgia Institute of Technology in 1992.
Dr.
Van Hein has consulted with clients in various industries
on projects regarding job analysis, employee surveys,
training needs analysis, training, employee selection,
promotion, and performance appraisal. Some of her past
clients include Toshiba, Jack Daniel’s, Eaton,
Square-D, TDOT, Metro Nashville Police Department, Cracker
Barrel, City of Smyrna, and First Tennessee Bank.
Her
research interests include selection, perceptions of
fairness and justice in the workplace, and legal issues
in human resource management. She has presented numerous
papers at professional conventions and meetings and
has published articles in the Journal of Applied
Social Psychology and the Psychological Bulletin.
Dr.
Van Hein is also a member of the Society for Industrial
and Organizational Psychology, the American Psychological
Society, and the Southeastern Psychological Association.
