Recomended Internet Browsers an Browser Inconsistencies
The PlaneView3D applet was developed using JAVA (JDK Version 1.1). Internet browsers supporting this and newer vesions are suggested for using the applet. Recommended browsers include Netscape (Version 4.5 and later) and Internet Explorer (Versions 4.0 and 5.0).
While the applet was designed to provide users with a user-friendly interface, inconsistencies of the functionality of some control devices occur between different browsers. This section describes potential inconsistencies between the recomended versions of Netscape and Internet Explorer.
Netscape
The slider devices used to modify the 3D object and to establish
the view reference coordinate system may continue to run after
the mouse button has been released. The problem has occured only
when moving the slider bar in the middle of the slider control
device (see Figure 1). If this happens, using the arrow buttons
at the ends of a slider will allow the device to work correctly.

Internet Explorer
The choice box, shown in Figure 2, will often not allow the user
to select either a one-point or two-point perspective projection.
This can occur when selecting the projection type by dragging
the mouse over the list. If this happens, press the browser's
refresh button and scroll to the desired projection type by using
the slider on the right side of the choice box (see Figure 2).
