Don Aliquo is an in-demand jazz saxophonist, educator and clinician based in the Nashville area.

Originally from Pennsylvania, where he was one of Pittsburgh's most popular and respected jazz musicians, Aliquo accepted an Assistant Professorship in Saxophone and Jazz Studies at Middle Tennessee State University in 1999.

February Regrets (1997) and Power of Two (1999), showcase Aliquo's original compositional style and innovative modern tenor approach.  Both recordings were critically acclaimed and continue to be commercially viable. Power of Two was recently nominated for Nashville Music Award's Jazz Album of the Year and was also featured on JazzSouth Radio, a syndicated program carried by over 240 stations on four continents. His untitled third CD of exciting original jazz compositions will be released in fall 2001.

In the past year, Aliquo has performed at several prestigious venues, including a January 2001 performance at the International Association of Jazz Educators Conference in New York City. He is a sought after jazz clinician and has given masterclasses at universities including Loyola, Carnegie-Mellon, Butler and James Madison.

In addition to his independent endeavors, Aliquo has performed with internationally celebrated artists including David Liebman, Claudio Roditi, Louie Bellson, Buddy Rich, Herbie Mann, Charlie Haden and Doc Cheatham.  He has performed on more than 15 jazz recordings.

Aliquo is also active as a classical saxophonist, is a member of the Stones River Chamber Players, and is a founding member of the  Middle Tennessee Saxophone Quartet.
