Quantitative Psychology M.A. at MTSU

The Psychology Department at Middle Tennessee State University offers a Master of Arts degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Quantitative Psychology. The primary educational objective of the Quantitative Psychology Program is to prepare students for applied and research careers as statisticians, psychometricians, data analysts, and quantitative psychologists in education, business, government, and other organizations.

Common activities performed by persons holding a masters degree in Quantitative Psychology include:
  • Analyzing empirical data obtained from scientific research
  • Providing program evaluation and statistical consulting services for federal and local governments, private businesses, hospitals, schools, and other data collecting agencies
  • Performing scientific research on psychometrics or statistical phenomena through theoretical derivations and simulation methods
  • Developing and evaluating mathematical models of psychological phenomena
  • Developing and evaluating educational and psychological tests.
