| Sarah McVey |

Sarah McVey is
a flutist specializing in
Performance. She returned to MTSU to pursue the master’s degree after
being awarded the Bachelor of Music summa cum laude in Instrumental
Music Education in 2006. Her primary flute instructors have been Dr.
Deanna Little, Dr. Andrea Graves and Dr. Elaine Harris. She is in her
first year as general music teacher and choir director for West and
Hickory Creek Elementary Schools in McMinnville, Tennessee. She
has also taught three years in Warren County as a band director. Sarah teaches flute privately in Coffee and Warren counties and has conducted the MTSU Flute Choir, as well as flute choirs for the Mid-South Flute Association and the MTSU Flute Festival. She also performs frequently as a freelance musician in southern Middle Tennessee. She is married to MTSU School of Music alumnus Jason McVey (B.Mus., ‘05; M.A., ‘08). In her spare time she enjoys gardening, playing piano, cooking, and reading, reading, reading. She loves spending time with her baby, Bella the Bloodhound, and is looking forward to the new addition to her family in March, Baby McVey! |
| Abi Coffer |
Abi Coffer graduated in May of 2010 from Middle Tennessee State University, with a degree in Flute Performance under Dr. Deanna Little. Abi has guest-soloed with several symphonies, including the Curb Youth Symphony in 2004, the Nashville Symphony in 2005, and last semester with the MTSU Symphony Orchestra. In the spring of 2010, Abi was the winner of the Flute Festival Mid-South's Young Artist compeition, In the summer of 2006, Abi won NFA’s High School Soloist Competition, Best Performance of Commissioned Work, and the Geoffrey Gilbert Prize at the National Flute Association's Convention held in Pittsburg. Previous teachers include Tadeu Coelho, Flute Professor at North Carolina School of the Arts, Norma Rogers, Piccoloist of the Nashville Symphony, and Diane Davich-Craig, founder of the Nashville Chamber Players. When she is not practicing, Abi enjoys making movies with her little sister, watching movies, and playing Ultimate Frisbee. Abi is a Miyazawa Young Artist. | |
| Lindsey Brison |

Lindsey Brison is 2010
graduate from
Middle Tennessee
State University with a degree in flute performance. She studies with
Dr. Deanna Little. She has been a
member
of the MTSU Symphony Orchestra for three years and is currently a
member
of the Wind Ensemble. She also participates in the MTSU Flute Choir and
a Woodwind Quintet. Lindsey won the Music Teachers National Association
Competition for the Junior High Division in the fall of 2002. She was
selected
to play at the Honors Concert as a participant at the 2004
Tennessee
Governor’s School for the Arts. Lindsey took first place honors in the
high school division of the Kentucky Flute Festival in January
2005,
and received an Honorable Mention in the High School Division at the
2005
Middle Tennessee State University Flute Festival and Mid-South Flute
Festival
She was a member of the 2005 Bands of America Honor Band in the Rose
Bowl
Parade. She has participated in master classes with Susan Hoeppner,
Trevor
Wye, Clifford Benson, Mary Karen Clardy, and Paul Edmund-Davies. In the
Spring of 2008, she performed in concert with pianist Mac
Frampton. |

Amy Duncan is a 2008 MTSU Graduate with a degree in recording industry. Her hobbies include painting, playing guitar and spending time with her cat, Flea. |

Katie Howard is December 2008 graduate of MTSU. Katie was a winner in the 2007 Masterclass Performers Competition and played for Bonita Boyd, won the Kentucky Collegiate Artist Competition in 2006, performed at NFA and won the MTSU High School Soloist Competition in 2004, and attended the 2003 Governor’s School for the Arts. Her past teachers include Tish Dunn and Norma Rogers. Other than playing the flute, she enjoys reading, dancing, and spending time with family and friends. Katie is beginning her first year as a masters student at UMKC on a full scholarship. | |

Lindsay Kuhn is a 2008 graduate of MTSU with a degree in flute performance. She has been playing the flute for ten years and her instructors include Deanna Hahn-Little and Ruth Ann McClain. Lindsay has been an active participant in many ensembles including the Memphis Youth Symphony, MTSU’s Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Winds, Flute Quartet, and Flute Choir. While in high school, Lindsay performed in a wide variety of competitions, including MTSU’s High School Soloist competition where she won fist place, The Memphis Youth Symphony’s Concerto Competition where she received honorable mention, The Nashville Symphony’s Curb Concerto Competition, and Orpheum Star Search in Memphis, TN where she was a finalist two years in a row. As a college student, Lindsay has participated in master classes with Marianne Gedigian, Roger Martin, and Stephanie Rea, and she has taken lessons with Katherine Kemler, Tom Robertello, Jim Walker, and Leone Buyse. Lindsay plans on attending graduate school after she receives her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance. Lindsay is currently in her second year of her masters with a graduate assistantship at Ohio University. |

Lindsay Seagrovesis a 2008 graduate of MTSU with her degree in music education. Lindsay's past teachers include Tish Dunn, Norma Rogers, and Shelley Binder, and she has participated in masterclasses with Tadeo Coelho, Mary Ann Archer, Roger Martin, and Kate Prestia-Shaub. When she's not busy at school, Lindsay enjoys making her own jewelry and spending time with her kitten, Izzy. Lindsay is currently in her first year as a masters student in conducting at MTSU. |

Kimberly Hommel Wade is a 2006

MTSU with a Masters in Music Education. She now teaches 4 and 5
year-olds
at a preschool in Franklin, TN. She still loves playing her flute when
she can, and loves to bike and spend time with her husband and her cat,
Forte, in her spare time. |

Jessie Oliver is a 2006 Graduate of MTSU with a Bachelors degree in Instrumental Music Education. She is currently teaching four middle school bands in Henderson Co.,TN. She also is teaching 5th and 6th grade general music classes in Lexington, TN. On her spare time, she enjoys playing with her dog, Zoe, spending time with her family, and continues to practice her flute. |

Sarah Profitt is
a 2005 graduate of MTSU with a degree in vocal/general music education.
Sarah spent the past two years teaching general music in LaVergne,
Tennessee.
Recently Sarah relocated to New York and is enjoying many new experiences living and working in Manhattan. Sarah plans to teach in the New York City schools in the future. |

Jennifer Whitehead graduated in May 2005 with a degree in flute performance and will begin graduate studies at Florida State University in the fall of 2006. In the summer of 2004, she attended the Wildacres flute summer camp. This past summer Jennifer travelled to Africa with the MTSU Christian Student Center. |

Jamie Adams graduated in the spring of 2001 with a degree in music industry. She is currently working for Schaller Anderson of TN and thinks it is a great job which also keeps her free in the evenings for dance and practicing. Jamie is considering going back to school to either seek teaching certification or possibly music therapy. Jamie loves living in Nashville. | |

Jamie (Ward) Adrian graduated from MTSU in the fall of 1999 with a degree in music industry. In May 2002 she also completed her masters in arts administration from the Univ. of Akron in Ohio. Jamie currently works as the Development Director for The Maryland State Boychoir in Baltimore, Maryland overseeing the organization's Annual Campaign, Capital Campaign, and Grants program. Jamie, her husband Steve, and their new baby Lucas (born in October 2006) happily reside outside of Baltimore and stay in touch with many of Jamie's MTSU flute alumni friends. |

Natalie D. (Piper) Bingham received her Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education from MTSU in 2003. She is currently on leave from her position as Choral Director and General Music Specialist at Poplar Grove School in her hometown of Franklin, TN. In 2009, she was honored as “Outstanding Young Music Educator” by the Tennessee Music Educators Association. Natalie still enjoys performing and teaching flute as her schedule allows. She and her husband Drew will welcome their first child, Luke, in October 2009. |

Jennifer
(Uhl) Neal graduated from MTSU in the fall of 1999 with a
degree in music
industry.
After working briefly in the music industry, she attended The
University
of Akron and began working in the non-profit sector.
She
was the Marketing & Development Associate for 4 years with the Nashville Chamber Orchestra. She is currently the Development Coordinator for the Discovery Center, a hands-on children’s museum in Murfreesboro, TN (www.discoverycenteronline.org). She is married to Michael Neal and has three wonderful boys: Justin, Ian and Andrew. |

Altus Flute Artist, Lisa Schroeder, is a Los Angeles based performer, teacher, and clinician. She tours extensively throughout the year with Noteworthy Duo, giving concerts and master classes. Their CD entitled “Between Flute and Guitar” was released in February 2009. Ms. Schroeder is Instructor of Flute at Vanguard University of Southern California, Cerritos College, and Golden West College. She is the winner of the 2009 National Flute Association Convention Performers Competition, and a consecutive winner (2008, 2009) of the Professional Flute Choir Competition in which she performed principal bass flute at the Kansas City and New York City Conventions. Lisa holds a Master of Music degree from California State University Long Beach and a Bachelor of Music degree from Middle Tennessee State University, both in flute performance. Her primary teachers include John Barcellona, Yvonne Chavez Hansbrough, Deanna Little, Julie Stone and Ann Richards. She has performed in Master Classes for Gary Schocker, Peter Lloyd, Debora Harris, Jim Walker, Angeleita Floyd, Michel Debost, and Sir James Galway. Since graduating in May of 2000 with a B.S. in Mass Communications Miranda has been very busy. One week after graduation she married Joshua Young, a fellow Mass Communications student (Class of 1999), moved to Alexandria, VA. Currently, Miranda works in the IT Department for the non-profit educational organization Association of American Universities in Washington, D.C. During her spare time Miranda enjoys traveling, reading, sewing clothes and spending time with her husband, two dogs Pepe and Indiana, and her cat Moose. In the fall of 2003 Josh and Miranda will be welcoming their first child, Maya Anastasia, into their family and are looking forward to being first time parents.
