M.A. in Economics
The focus of MTSU's M.A. program in economics is on decision analysis and applied research. Consequently, the M.A. program has more of any applied orientation than many others because it is at the intersection of reality and theory rather than at the intersection of theory and mathematics. M.A. students are offered preparation for careers in private business and public service. The M.A. program offers a general curriculum in economics as well as concentrations in employment relations and financial economics. The employment relations concentration offers the opportunity to obtain applied skills for careers in industrial relations. The concentration in financial economics seeks to provide the intellectual foundation and technical skills required of financial economists and analysts in private companies and public agencies.
