Parents
have the right to:
- Know
what types of programs and activities are being planned and to
be offered feedback on the kind of activities the children enjoy.

Know if their child in misbehaving, and spend time with the Director
concerning a solution.
-
Know when the child is going to any place other than where the
program is usually held.
- Voice
special concerns and considerations not mentioned in this manual,
and to discuss special cases where occasional exceptions may be
made from the rules set forth in this manual.

Receive, in writing, any changes in EESP policies and procedures.
Parents
have the responsibility to:
- To
keep account current.
- Pick
up their children on time.
-
Observe the rules of the Evening Extended School Program as set
forth in this manual and in additional policy statements.
- To
share their concerns with the Director if the program is not meeting
their child’s needs.
-
Listen to concerns that the Director may have about their child’s
behavior, and to work through an agreeable solution to any problem
that might occur.
-
Adhere to any changes in EESP policies or procedures.
- Replace
any equipment that their child is responsible for misusing.
-
Sign out their child at the end of the day (by the clock that
EESP uses); to notify the front desk when another authorized person
is picking up a child.
-
To keep the child’s registration form up to date with changes
in phone numbers, addresses and parents’ schedule during
EESP hours.
- To
notify EESP staff when child(ren) will not be attending on a scheduled
day.
Children
have the right to:
-
Have their ideas and feelings respected
-
Discipline that is fair, equal, and respectful of them.
-
Express their anger, frustration, disappointment, joy, etc., in
an appropriate manner.
- Have
an environment that offers a variety of choices: physical, quiet,
indoor, outdoor, creative, dramatic play, exploration.
-
Have staff members who care about them, enjoy being with them,
and will help them achieve and grow.
-
Feel safe and secure in EESP.
Children
need to be responsible:
-
For learning to take the consequences for their own actions.
-
For respecting the rules that guide them during their normal school
day; for controlling their feelings so that their actions do not
harm anyone in the program.

For not willfully destroying or harming any equipment or property
in the building or another persons property while they are in
the program.
-
For remaining with a staff member at all times and notifying them
if they need to go to another area, room, or activity.
-
For respecting the rules of the Evening Extended School Program.
-
For dressing appropriately for indoors or outdoor play, for having
tennis shoes available to wear in the gym.
-
For returning materials and equipment to the place they found
them before taking out a new activity.
-
For carrying out an activity to which they have committed themselves
to do.
