  A $15 million Mass Communication building completed in 1991 and the Photography Building make MTSU's facilities some of the best in the nation. Students get hands-on experience in television and radio studios, linear and non-linear video editing facilities, a mobile production lab, audio production labs, electronic newsrooms, a 100,000 watt, NPR-affiliated FM, and a FCC licensed student radio station. A cable channel can be viewed by regular subscribers to Murfreesboro's cable TV system. Students run the station and make all decisions, including budgeting, day-to-day operations, and hiring and firing. On-the-job training, internships, special projects, and visiting media professionals round out the learning experience. |
