Update!

Results from the 2012 National Semi Finals in Ocala, FL

After a nice weekend in Ocala, the team has returned back to Murfreesboro!

Of the individual qualifiers, 6 of 7 are headed to Nationals!

Individual Results

Alina Carter WON the Individual Open Reining class and placed 4th in the Individual Open Horsemanship class, earning a spot at Nationals in both classes.

Cayce Turner placed 4th in the Individual Novice Horsemanship class, also earning a trip to Nationals.

Emily Kopko placed 4th in the Individual Intermediate Horsemanship class, and will be headed to Nationals.

Lydia Darnell WON the Alumni Horsemanship class

Marianne England placed 4th in the Alumni Horsemanship class

As for the team, they placed 5th overall, with only 2 points difference between the 2nd place team and the 5th place team. Needless to say, this year's semi-finals was full of great riders!

Update!

Deepest apologies for such a lag in updating the website--we have had technical difficulties.

The spring show season has proven to be quite an exciting one!
After being named the hi-point team at five of eight regular season western shows, we are proud to
announce that the MTSU Eq Team is the
2012 Regional Champion Western Team!
We are headed to the IHSA National Semi-Finals in Ocala, FL this weekend!
Several individuals have qualified for Semi Finals as well.

Update!

This has been a wonderful show season for the MTSU Equestrian Team. We are so appreciative of all of our members' hard work for the team.

We are proud to announce that MaryBeth Hawkins has won the Attendance Point Challenge, and has free lessons for the spring semester! Thank you, MaryBeth, for showing your dedication to our team!

We are selling advertisements and sponsorships for our upcoming 2 horseshows in the spring semester.
We are asking each member to sell at least 2 advertisements, but PLEASE sell more. These ad sales help make our horse show possible. The highest selling three members (who sell over $500 in ads) will recieve free lessons and/or free team jacket.
The deadline for ads is January 23rd, 2012. No exceptions.

to all of the students who came to the Murray and Maryville horseshows JUST to help! We could NOT have survived the weekend without your dedication and hard work.

Update!

Reminder for those with Pamper Pals-- please make sure to continue to sign in and visit your assigned horse.

Attendance will be taken at lessons, so please continue to attend! This will affect your showing.

Check out our updated schedule for upcoming social events and fundraisers.

We signed up for the double huntseat/double western Maryville College show that will be on October 21-23. We will send out an email to those who are showing before Monday. Remember to check out your clothes sooner than later!

Update!

This past weekend was our first IHSA competition for the semester--it was at Sewanee. We rode well, and were able to qualify two riders for the Regional Championships. Both Brook Davis and Kelsie Graham qualified out of Advanced Walk-Trot-Canter into Novice. We brought 6 horses to Sewanee--and had amazing volunteers who helped immensely with the care of these horses. We awarded our "Volunteer of the Weekend" award to new member, Lindsey Rosen. Also, thank you to Alyssa Grimes who let us use her horse, Bruno.

Our next upcoming horse show is at Maryville College on October 21, 22, & 23rd. It is now a double huntseat AND double western show. We will sign up for this show at the October 3rd meeting. If you are unable to attend, please email Anne with your level and the day(s) you are available to show.

Also, we have added a "photo" section to our website. Please check it out! Also, if you have any pictures of team events/shows, please make sure to submit those to Christine Henry at chenry89@bellsouth.net so they can be added to our photo collection.

Update!

First old members meeting was wonderful! There were about 40 members in attendance. Thank you to all members who completed your paperwork!

Also, if you missed this meeting it is imperative that you pick up an "old members" packet at the HSC and have the paperwork turned in to Christine by September 13th. This paperwork is required for you to take lessons.

Also, we introduced our new program, Pamper Pals. Pamper Pals is an opportunity for members to give back to the hardworking school horses who are used in our lessons. The informational flyer and application is below. Submit all Fall Semester Pamper Pal applications by September 19th, at the meeting. This is open to all members.
