Guidelines for Submitting Bulletins and Programs
Please read the Bulletin and Program guidelines before submitting a request to ERC @ MT. The program selection process is also explained below.
Please read the guidelines before submitting a bulletin request for your event / activity / announcement to ERC@MT.
Acceptable bulletin requests include:
- An event / activity sponsored by one or more MTSU departments / offices / organizations, etc.
- An event / activity sponsored by a not-for-profit non-MTSU organization or by one or more private individuals as a public service.
- An event / activity that is free and open to the public.
- An event / activity sponsored by a not-for-profit organization that charges a fee to cover the cost of the event / activity.
- An event / activity sponsored by a not-for-profit organization that charges a fee to support a documented charitable organization (401C), public school activity, or public service organization.
- Non-event information must provide a public service to the community or provide information about MTSU departments / offices / organizations.
The following types of bulletin requests will not be accepted:
- Political announcements, endorsements, advertisements, meetings, etc.
- Announcements, endorsements, advertisements, meetings, etc. for / by religious organizations.
- Events / activities / advertising, etc. sponsored by for-profit organizations.
All bulletin requests are subject to the approval of ERC @ MT management.
1. Programs may be submitted in VHS or DVD-R format
2. Include a cover letter addressing the following points:
- Title of the program
- Length of the work
- Date (year) work produced
- If dramatic, who owns the copyright to the script and what is the copyright date?
- List of persons appearing in work
- Name(s) of scriptwriter(s)
- Reason why program would be appropriate for an educational access channel.
- Brief description of content
3. Include a signed release from each person who performs in the work and who wrote all or part of the script. Separate release forms for adults and minors can be downloaded.
4. Include written permission from copyright holders for any audio or video contained in the program if copyrighted by persons or organizations other than the person submitting the program.
5. Programs may be sent by United States Post Office, package delivelry services such as UPS or FedEx, or may be submitted in person to one of the addresses below:

In person deliveries
Bring the program and documents to the MTSU Instructional Media Resources circulation desk in the Learning Resources Center, room 101. Please check the MTSU map for the location of the McWherter Learning Resources Center.
- Programs submitted to ERC @ MT for consideration will not be returned.
- Programs will be evaluated by an evaluation committee comprised of ERC @ MT administrative staff.
- Programs will be evaluated within 30 days after the program is received.
Exception: programs received between November 15 and December 31 will be evaluated by January 31.
- The person(s) submitting a programs will be notified within 45 days after the program is received.
Exception: notification of acceptance for programs submitted between November 15 and December 31 will be sent by February 15.
- Acceptance of the program does not guarantee a specific date, time, or number of times that the program will be included in the station’s schedule.
