William B. Rogers
President
The Trust for Public Land

Will Rogers is the President of the Trust for Public Land (TPL), a national nonprofit land conservation organization founded in 1972 to conserve land for people. TPL is headquartered in San Francisco with 37 offices throughout the United States. Working to acquire land for public use, TPL has protected over $2 billion worth of land, from urban centers to vast wilderness areas, covering more than 1.2 million acres in 45 states and Canada.

Mr. Rogers joined the Trust for Public Land (TPL) in 1991, first as Director of Projects and then as Western Regional Director. He was named TPL's President in 1998. Two major efforts in Will's leadership has been the TPL Conservation Finance program, which has helped generate more than $25 billion in new funding for parks and land conservation since 1998, and the development of "Greenprinting," a strategy for helping communities guide growth, maintain local character and protect important resources. Will and TPL believe that more proactive greenprinting can help communities move from emergency room land conservation to strategic land conservation that will better help them shape their future and preserve their special places.

Before joining TPL, Will worked as a project manager for a Chicago-based real estate development company where he managed urban development and redevelopment projects including both new infill construction and the rehabilitation of vacant industrial buildings for commercial, office and residential use. Prior to his real estate experience, Will was a commercial beekeeper, founding and managing a commercial honey production company in Bogota, Columbia.

Will Rogers is a graduate of Stanford University and received his MBA from Harvard University. He is married with two children.
