"Recent Supreme Court Decisions" A talk presented by John Ferguson

John Ferguson, a religious-liberty attorney, is the First Amendment education coordinator for the Freedom Forum's First Amendment Center at Vanderbilt University.

In that capacity he has participated as associate editor on the newest revisions of Finding Common Ground: A First Amendment Guide to Religion in Public Schools. He has authored scholarly articles in several journals and is published in such religious-liberty publications as Liberty Magazine. He also travels around the nation speaking to educators and civic groups about the First Amendment in the public schools and public life.

Ferguson is a graduate of Vanderbilt University's Law and Divinity schools, where he earned his Juris Doctor and Master of Theological Studies degrees. He is a member of the Tennessee and Washington, D.C., bars. A summa cum laude graduate of Howard Payne University, he received his B.A. with a double major in practical theology and Academy of Freedom. He previously worked for Tennessee Sen. Fred Thompson and various Tennessee law firms. As a Baptist minister, Ferguson has served on the staff of several churches.
