The biggest news to report is that we are now the THIRD campus in the country to affiliate with Americans United for the Separation of Church and State. This affiliation will allow for greater access to resources and contacts, as well as giving members a chance to participate in grassroots efforts. Our constitution has also been updated to reflect this change. Our next meeting is not this Tuesday, but the Tuesday after (September 24). We will need to begin preparing for speaker 2-- Massimo Pigliucci. I will have the meeting room and time by this week.

At the last meeting, held Tuesday, September 10, we voted to align ourselves with America for the Separation of Church and State. We also viewed scenes from the March 14th hearing of the Rutherford Commisssion which was about the hanging of the Ten Commandments.

The introductory meeting (held 27 August) consisted of 23 people in attendance. People introduced themselves, which opened up debates of last semester's dave campaign and the hanging of the ten commandments in the courthouse. Everyone ate pizza and pop drinks as refreshments. Yesterday, a group of us walked around campus putting up fliers to advertise Gerd Lüdemann who will be speaking in the State Farm Lecture Room of the BAS at 6pm.

A smaller less formal meeting will be held on Saturday (two days from now) on the KUC GRILL PATIO OUTSIDE, at 1pm. There is a purpose to this meeting however. It is to flyer the campus to advertise for our first meeting. So if you would like (and it would be appreciated) come on out (and bring tape if you have).

As you may have noticed, the Campus Freethought Alliance @ Middle Tennessee State University has a new look to it. It was decided to place information into a single box with its own scroll so that the viewer may have access to other areas of the page.

All of the officers met Tuesday afternoon outside of the library to discuss plans for the new semester. Amanda, our treasurer, announced that around $100 was raised from the candy sale located in the Psychology lab. Also she and Timmy have been selected to represent CFA at the first ever MTSU Convocation being held this Sunday at 2pm in the Murphy Center.
