![]() Graduate Student Sociology Association The Graduate Student Sociology Association (GSSA) was founded in the fall of 1997 to provide a forum for students that is conducive to frank and open discussion abut sociological ideas. It exists to provide an alternative method of inquiry and a place for intellectual exchange. Some events that have been sponsored by the GSSA include: a visit and presentation by Stephen Pfohl from Boston College; by Patricia Adler from the University of Colorado-Boulder, and by Kathy Rudy from Duke University; monthly discussion groups for members (usually at a local restaurant off campus); web page; and departmental library.
