Requirements for Major in Animal Science-Horse Science
The requirements for a Major in Animal Science (Horse Science concentration) include completion of the MTSU General Education Requirements, the Agribusiness & Agriscience Core courses and the Horse Science concentration courses. In addition, all majors must select a minor area of study.

The Animal Science-Horse Science Upper Division Form provides the most up-to-date information regarding course requirements (general eduation and major requirements) for graduation. The following outline is intended to serve as a guide to supplement information on the Upper Division Form.

Animal Science-Horse Science Major Courses
43 Major credit hours are required with a minimum 2.0 GPA. In addition to the following Horse Science Major courses, supporting courses in Biology and Chemistry and Upper Division courses are also required.

Upper Division Electives: 10 credits
Completing additional 3000- and 4000-level courses in Horse Science allows students to meet the university's minimum requirement of 42 upper-division credits while tailoring a program of study to meet individual goals and interests.
