On-going Renovation Projects

Housing and Residential Life is completing the sixth year of a ten-year renovation program to revitalize current housing facilities. The renovation of Cummings Hall is finishing up during summer 2009. Cummings Hall will officially re-open in August 2009.

Renovations for Corlew Hall

Corlew Hall will be off-line for the entire 2009-2010 academic year. Renovations will begin in summer 2009, and work is scheduled to be complete in August 2010. The renovation project will provide students with state of the art facilities, which include new laundry and kitchen facilities on every floor, improved study areas on every floor, individual in-room temperature control, and other building amenities. The main lobby of Corlew will also undergo a significant transformation. The lobby area will be redesigned with an emphasis on customer service. The redesign will include an improved front desk area, office space, academic space, and an improved computer lab. Corlew Hall is scheduled for occupancy in August 2010.

Up-coming Renovation Projects

The next project as a part of the on-going ten-year renovation program is scheduled to begin in Deere Hall and Nicks Hall in May 2010. Both buildings are scheduled for renovation during the 2010-2011 academic year. Details on this project will be released at a later date.

Non-Smoking Residential Campus

Housing and Residential Life at Middle Tennessee State University continues to be a non-smoking residential campus. This means smoking is prohibited in all public areas (lobbies, hallways, community baths, classrooms, etc.) and all individual residence hall rooms and all apartments.

Fall Term Only Housing Option Available

The Housing Office does not recommend this option to students who are seriously interested in receiving the full benefits associated with on-campus living.  It is not recommended for students planning a December graduation or participation in a spring off-campus educational experience.  Assignments to Fall Term Only accommodations are limited and moves are restricted to available Fall Term Only accommodations.  To be honored, Roommate requests must also be Fall Term Only applicants.  If the Fall Term Only option is not available at the time of application, the application will not be accepted or may be returned.  Fall Term Only rates differ from Academic Year rates for the same type of accommodation.  The Housing Office does NOT mail, email, or distribute freely information regarding this option.  All necessary paperwork associated with this option must be completed in person by the applicant at the Housing Office located in room 300 of the Keathley University Center.

Inquiries may be made in-person at the Housing Office located in room 300 of the Keathley University Center or by calling 615-898-2971.
