and staff may check out IMR audio cassettes and audio CD's listed
in Library's database Voyager under the following guidelines:
- Patrons must present a valid MTSU picture ID card (includes
color picture and bar code number).
- Only items in the library catalog, Voyager, are eligible for
checkout.
- Audio cassettes/CD's that are reserved by a faculty member for
in-house listening by his/her students may not be checked out
to leave Instructional Media Resources (IMR). Reserve materials
must be used in-house.
- Programs with catalog numbers ending in a capital L are for
local (in-house) use only, and may not be checked out of IMR.
Borrowing Limits
- Faculty and staff (active and retired) may check out 10 audio
titles.
- Students may check out 5 audio titles.
Loan Periods
- Audio cassettes/CD's may be checked out for one 30-day period,
or through the last day of the semester, whichever comes first.
Renewal of Materials
- Programs not overdue may be renewed once for a 15-day period
by bringing the item(s) to the IMR circulation desk in LRC 101.
Overdue Materials
- When a program is 2 days overdue, one overdue notice will be
sent to allow patrons to return materials before the overdue fine
is assessed. A $15.00 overdue fine will be assessed on materials
overdue more than 10 days.
- Faculty do not pay overdue fines, but are responsible for replacing
lost materials.
Replacing Lost Materials
- Programs overdue 31 days will be declared lost. Instead of the
overdue fine, the patron will be billed for replacing the program
at the average sound recording cost listed in the current edition
of The Bowker Annual Library and Book Trade Almanac and will be
assessed a $20.00 processing fee. Current rates are posted at
the circulation desk in Instructional Media Resources, LRC 101
- To cover the cost of replacing materials returned damaged, patrons
will be billed at the same rate as for lost materials, including
a $10.00 processing fee.
- If a patron returns a lost program within 30 days of paying
the lost material and processing fees, IMR will request a refund
of these fees less the $15.00 overdue fine. The lost program and
processing fees will not be refunded if more than 30 days have
elapsed since they were paid.
- All fees must be paid at one of the Business Office Windows
in Cope Administration Building. No fees for IMR materials will
be collected in IMR or in Walker Library.
