University Computer Lab at Instructional Media Resources (LRC 101)
The University Computer Lab at IMR provides MTSU students, faculty, and staff with access to both Windows
and Macintosh computers as well as to printers and scanners.
Two electric typewriters and a test score machine (Scantron)
are also provided. The Lab is open during regular IMR
hours. Users must follow the MTSU
Computer and Network Acceptable Use Policy when using
the lab. |

Computer Hardware
- 25 Windows computers with CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, floppy and zip drives.
- 1 Windows workstation for disabled students with DecTalk speech
synthesizer, JAWS speech synthesizer software, and ZoomText screen
magnification software.
- 2 Windows workstations for international students with universal
translator software.
- 13 iMac G5 computers with 80gb hard drives, 24" widescreen display, SuperDrives (CD-RW/DVD-R) and external ZIP drives, firewire and USB connectors.
- 2 laser printers.
- 4 flatbed color scanners.
All computers are connected to the campus network and have Internet
access.
Computer Software
A variety of software is available on the PCs and Macs including:
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), Microsoft Access, Microsoft
Publisher, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat Reader. Computers also
have Mulberry, Internet Explorer, Netscape, and Quicktime Player.
In addition, the Macs also have Appleworks 6.0, and Music Lesson
3.0, iLife (includes iTunes, iPhoto, iMovie, iDVD and GarageBand), Safari, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, GoLive, InDesign)

application or a manual for any of these software applications:
Word 2003, Excel 2003, PowerPoint 2003, FrontPage 2003, Access 2003,
Illustrator CS, Photoshop CS, and QuarkXPress 6.0. A complete listing

Audio Visual Viewing Equipment/ Team Tech Rooms
Besides computer workstations, IMR provides media viewing workstations,
typewriters, an NCS 2050 (the scantron) test score machine, and
three study rooms enhanced with computer and audio/visual technology (including a large study room with TeamSpot collaborative software) are also available.
