About the Office
The
Office of Institutional Research (OIR), organized in 1968, plays
a pivotal role in the planning, evaluation, and effectiveness of
Middle Tennessee State University. Its primary function is to serve
as the University's chief administrative official in providing data
that support the University's institutional effectiveness, planning,
policy formation, and decision-making. Data are provided to administrative
and academic units through various publications, reports and surveys.
For statistical information not available in these formats, data
are provided through special adhoc reports. The office serves as
the University's primary source for data reporting to federal, state
and regional agencies, guidebook publishers and other external publics.
