Interest: General :: Lecture/Presentation :: Level: Beginner

Abstract

Now that you have built a web page, so what? This presentation will show how you can personalize your web page so that it doesn't look like everyone else's. We will demonstrate the process of creating a button, a banner, a background and a simple animation in PhotoShop. You will be surprised how simple it is to use a few of PhotoShop's features to make your page unique, just like you!

Description

Has this ever happened to you? You are visiting some web sites whose images catch your eye and you wonder how they did that? You know that there are many photo editing software programs available, but you don't have time to learn all the features of complex software such as PhotoShop. Relax! You don't have to be a PhotoShop expert to create basics graphics, appealing navigation buttons, a web banner, a background texture or even a simple animation.

This presentation will demonstrate how PhotoShop can be used to create basic web images and personalize your Web page. For those who don't have time, but are still eager to create a professional looking web site, you will benefit from this presentation and find out how simple the process is to develop quality web images.

The intended audience for this presentation is any individual who can create a basic web page and wants to learn simple techniques using PhotoShop. We will start with a simple web page built by FrontPage. First, we will demonstrate how to create a navigation button and put it on the page as an image link. Second, we will demonstrate the process of creating a banner and insert it on the page. Third, we will show you how to create a background texture and insert it as the background of the page. Last but not least, we are going to show you how to create a simple animation using Image Ready (included in PhotoShop.) This presentation does not focus on PhotoShop training; it aims to demonstrate how easily you can use basic features of PhotoShop to create a professional-looking web.

This presentation has two main purposes. The first is to show how easy it is to use a limited set of the PhotoShop capabilities to add a professional and unique look to your page. The second is to excite your imagination with the possibilities. We can't wait to share with you all these wonderful things that PhotoShop can do to let your personal image shine through!
