Stimulating Curricular Reform
AbstractKeeping the curriculum in the College of Education technologically current is a real challenge. Learn how ETSU uses its new Educational Technology Review Center to stimulate and support curricular reform. DescriptionETSU College of Education is engaged in a major curricular reform for teacher preparation classes. Over the next two years, every pre-service and graduate education class will be rewritten to meet or exceed ISTE technology standards. In order to accomplish the reform, the College of Education will use a "Preparing Teachers to Teach with Technology" grant and its new Educational Technology Review Center. This session will describe the Educational Technology Review Center (ETRC), its structure, operations, activities and objectives. Supporting ETSU students and faculty as they try-out and evaluate software is an critical step in the reform process. The ETRC staff identifies, acquires, evaluates, and helps implement education technology at the College of Education. By doing so, the ETRC provides support for curricular change.
