DescriptionAs our incoming students gain computer skills it is easier for them to attempt to cheat on online work assignments. The "Technology in the Classroom" course has 10 work assignments varying from a resume in MS Word, grades in Excel, presentation in PowerPoint, to the construction of & posting a webpage. This course has been taught online for 4 years so there have been hundreds of students who have had the course & have kept their assignments on disk. The temptation is to signup for the class online & turn in the assignments that have been copied from previous student's disk. The solution is threefold. One, the students are required to come on campus for a performance review at the end of the semester. Two, we change the assignments slightly every semester & change the order of submission. Three, we maintain all of the previous students work on our computers and we can easily search for documents from which the submission maybe copied. This presentation will address the cheating problem along with other problems encountered while teaching online classes & our solutions to those problems. Proceeding
