What’s New in PowerPoint 2002?

By: Lucia Vanderpool
Track 1 - Effective Technology Based Learning Environments
Interest: General :: Workshop :: Level: All

Abstract

This hands-on workshop reviews Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2002, the Office XP Presentation Graphics Program. Participants in this workshop will have the opportunity to “try out” new features that enable the user to create and share presentations, while expanding communication – live or online. Explore the new Task Panes, TV-like animations, collaboration tools, and more. These new tools will help you create a more dynamic and interactive presentation with your audience.

Description

Participants in this hands-on workshop will create a PowerPoint presentation, using some of the key, new features of the 2002 version of the software including:

  • task panes that free you from repeated trips to the menu bar and scrolling through lists of actions
  • multiple masters allow you to combine multiple presentations into one file while maintaining the original designs
  • thumbnail views of slide design and formatting within the normal view
  • print preview available for the first time in any version of PowerPoint
  • animations with TV-like, broadcast-quality
  • collaboration tools that allow teams to work together to create, review, and share presentations

A PowerPoint data disk and handouts with tips useful for any version of PowerPoint will be given to each attendee.
