Why Go Wireless? A Faculty Perspective

By: Susan Myers-Shirk, Maria Smith
Track 1 - Effective Technology Based Learning Environments
Interest: General :: Lecture/Presentation :: Level: All

Abstract

This session is aimed at information technology staff who want to understand the faculty perspective on wireless. We'll begin by examining the culture of resistance to technology that is still prevalent among many scholars. We'll then explore the possibilities for wireless in the classroom and why wireless is still a good idea despite resistance. We'll conclude by discussing the climate necessary to making wireless a tool that's accepted and used, even by faculty and students who are technology-resistant.
