Call for Participation
Come to the 9th annual Mid-South Instructional Technology Conference,
April 4-6, 2004, and join colleagues from across the
nation to share experiences and expertise in instructional technology.
The 2003 conference attracted more than 400 faculty and administrators
from 25 states who enjoyed the conference's informative and motivating
sessions, as well as the convenient location, affordable cost, and friendly
conference staff.
Send us your proposal for a presentation, panel discussion, or workshop.
Deadline for Proposals is October 31, 2003
We are seeking proposals on the following:
- Deep learning
- Exploring learning objects
- E-portfolios
- Metacognition
- Communities of inquiry
- Generation WWW
- Faculty engagement
- Designing research for assessment
- Creating effective technology-based learning resources
- Collaboration and communication
- Faculty innovations
- Policies, standards, and ethics
Type of Sessions
- Pre-Conference Workshop - workshops will be scheduled on Sunday,
April 4, 2004, from 2 - 4 p.m. Participants will work interactively
with hardware and software.
- Lecture/Presentation - presenter will share information about the
session topic with participants.
- Panel Discussion - moderator will lead the participants through a
discussion related to the session topic.
- Hands-on Workshop - participants will work interactively with hardware
and software.
- Poster Session - Posters will be displayed at the Double Tree (formerly Garden Plaza) Hotel
on Monday, April 5, 2004, from 5:30 - 7 p.m. (prior to banquet).
Submission Instructions
The following information must be included and formatted in
the order below. Email your proposal as an ASCII
text file attachment to itconf@mtsu.edu
no later than TBA.
- Name, affiliation, and complete contact information for each participant
- Type of session:
- Lecture/Presentationpresenter shares information about the
session topic with participants.
- Panel Discussionmoderator leads the participants through
a discussion related to the session topic.
- Hands-on Workshopparticipants work interactively with hardware
or software.
- Pre-Conference WorkshopParticipants work interactively with
hardware or software prior to the beginning of the conference
- Poster SessionAn abstract of 75 words of less will be sufficient.
Posters will be displayed at the Double Tree (formerly Garden Plaza) Hotel on Monday, April
5, 2004, from 5:30 - 7 p.m. (prior to banquet).
- Title of proposed session
- Abstract (approx. 75 words, for publication in conference materials)
- Description (250-500 words)
- Audience (faculty, presidents, provosts, deans, librarians, instructional
technology specialists, lab directors, general)
- Audience level (beginning, intermediate, advanced, all)
- On-site equipment requirements
- Length: All presentations and panel discussions will be allotted one
hour; all hands-on workshops will be allotted two hours.
