AbstractWe will demonstrate the use of Impactica to enhance online presentations
(PowerPoint) as a means of delivering WebCT instruction. Demonstrations of use
and effectiveness of Impatica will be included in the presentation.
DescriptionOne of the problems teaching online is that you have students with many different
types of computers and access speeds. When using PowerPoint as a media, it is
often hard for students to download the presentations at a speed that is timely
and efficient. Then there is the problem of explaining what you meant on the
slides. Even if you use PowerPoint audio to narrate the slideshow, you still have a
transmission problem. Impatica, allows you to send both as a streaming file. A
viewer is included in the file and the user is able to access the transmission at an
optimal speed for their connection and browser.
Our presentation will an introductory, narrated, slideshow, detailing using WebCT
4.0 as a departmental training film for those students taking online classes in
Educational Leadership. The presentation will include steps in using Impatica to
enhance PowerPoint slides, include narration, and the delivery of this training
slideshow as a streaming file.
