Enriching the Online Learning & Hybrid Classroom Experience with Macromedia Breeze

Abstract

Macromedia Breeze is a rich web communication system that enables organizations to easily share important information over the Internet by connecting people to people, and people to information. The tools and techniques presented in this lecture will demonstrate real world solutions for the conflicts that arise when choosing between a synchronous or asynchronous learning environment. Features include turning existing Power Point lectures into voice over Flash movies, as well as live video/audio conferencing.

Description

This presentation is designed to give a practical overview of Macromedia Breeze web communication platform. Macromedia Breeze includes a set of components that provide an integrated solution for higher education communication, collaboration, and teaching/training needs. This lecture will focus on two of those components: Breeze Presentation and Breeze Live.

• Breeze Presentation allows users to personalize Power Point presentations with their own voice-over and easily deliver them to standard web browsers through the Flash Player.
• Breeze Live allows users to meet and collaborate instantly with students and colleagues over the Internet. Features demonstrated will include real-time audio/video conferencing, screen-sharing, interactive polls, real time file sharing, recording meetings, etc.

The uses for Macromedia Breeze are broad, from online/hybrid class instruction to training to administrative meetings, and more. Examples and case studies will be presented throughout the presentation.
