Incorporating JavaScript and Java Applets in a World
Wide Web-Based Multimedia Development Course Dr. Roger Von Holzen
Abstract
The World Wide Web has emerged as a growing force in the areas of computer usage and multimedia development. To reflect these changes, the Multimedia Development course at Northwest Missouri State University has been retooled to merge the new presentation and multimedia elements found on the World Wide Web. The major new components in this course are the teaching of Netscape's JavaScript and the modification and inclusion of Java applets in Web pages. The focus of this paper is on the various multimedia software components of the course and how these components are introduced and integrated into the curriculum.
