Name: Steve Bonham
Audience Level: all
Audience: Faculty and Instructional Technology Specialists
Length:
1 hour
Abstract:
Turn your students on to deeper learning by turning them into game designers, judges, crew members, and players using the "Twisted Jeopardy" game shell designed/developed by the presenter. Participants will learn about the game and about aligning gaming with the principles of instructional design as they play the game during this 60 minute session.
Description:
Engage Learning in your course through the use of the "Twisted Jeopardy" game shell- and through effectively FACILITATING PREPARATION for the "big game." Your students will "learn by doing" by studying course content, and by creating and evaluating game question/answer pairs that are aligned to course objectives and learner outcomes. Twisted Jeopardy is a shareware (executable file) game that runs on the Windows, Macintosh and Linux/Unix platforms. Games are created by writing simple text files. The presenter is the game designer/developer and will acquaint participants with the game and more importantly, with the processes involved for making the game a vivid learning experience.
