Abstract:
Given a scenario describing an online collaboration, how do students
explain participation patterns? Participants were given one of four
scenarios ? either they are 1) an expert or 2) a novice in the domain
they are going to write about, and that they are either a) the highest
or b) lowest contributor to the project. Statements covering both self
and others' reasoning emerged and include motivations, self-efficacy
and external pressures.
