Description: Do you think about thinking? Do you create opportunities for students to develop thinking skills? Have you thought about using instructional technologies to enhance the thinking process? This workshop is for those seeking ways to push themselves and their students beyond bricks and mortar and text on a page. Through a variety of activities, participants will develop techniques for using instructional technologies as tools for problem solving, decision making, critical thinking, creative thinking, and reflective thinking.

The purpose of this workshop is to help participants discover ways they can enhance thinking across the curriculum. Through discussions and activities participants will develop a definition of thinking, identify exemplary thinkers, explore different types of thinking, decide how thinking fits into curriculum beyond typical parameters, utilize methodologies for thinking, and examine how to incorporate technology as means to thinking.

The workshop itself practices what it preaches by teaching the questions not the answers. Participants and facilitators will engage in the thinking process to solve problems, evaluate solutions, and explore creative applications for integrating thinking in classroom.

Length: Workshop session: 2 hours

Audience: General - those directly involved in teaching

Audience Level: All

Equipment: Individual participant workstations with Internet connectivity; Facilitator station with Internet connectivity and projection capability (i.e.Proxima)
