Fundamental principles of organisms, along with taxonomy of viruses, bacteria, protists, and fungi.

Biol. 1110 is to precede BIOL 1120.

Prerequisite: BIOL 1110.

Primarily for biology majors and minors and other science-oriented students.

 Survey of plants and animals emphasizing evolution, structure, function, reproduction, growth, and ecology.

BIOL 3230: Introduction to Biological Literature (2 cr).

Prerequisites: BIOL 1110 and 1120 or consent of the instructor.

Application of methods of literature research in the biological sciences and techniques of scientific writing.

Prerequisites: BIOL 1110, 1120, and 3250.

Statistical methods utilized in biological research.

BIOL 4500/5500: Plant Physiology (4 cr).

Prerequisites: 12 cr of biology including BIOL 2120 and one semester of organic chemistry.

Plant growth, development and metabolism at the cellular and whole plant levels.

Intermediate-level introduction to biostatistical procedures used in research.
