       TOPOLOGY AND GEOMETRY     

COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
All courses listed may be used to fulfill the General Mathematics Track requirements; Green numbers represent courses required for the Advanced Mathematics Track.
MATH 5270 Introduction to Topology. Three credits. Prerequisite is MATH 3110 and previous proof-based course. Topics covered include continuity compactness, connectedness, separation axiom, and metric spaces.
MATH 6400 Advanced Geometry. Three credits. Prerequisite is MATH 3070. This course provides a detailed study of one or more branches of geometry. Possible topics include non-Euclidean geometry, differential geometry, projective geometry, and algebraic geometry.
MATH 6140C Seminar in Topolgy. Three credits. Prerequisite is MATH 4270/5270 or instructor consent. This course provides the student with exposure to topics in topology not usually covered elsewhere. Content is determined by instructor.
