Zeny Sarabia-Panol, professor and head of the public relations emphasis, teaches PR campaigns, PR Communication and Principles of PR. She is also the immediate past head of the International Communication Division of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC). Dr. Sarabia-Panol holds degrees from Silliman University (magna cum laude), University of the Philippines and Oklahoma State University. Her research interests include international public relations, advertising, ethics, new media technology, academic quality rankings, and ethnic media.

Dr. Sarabia-Panol’s research has been published in the Public Relations Review, Disability Studies Quarterly, Southwestern Mass Communication Journal, and Media Asia. She has authored a number of book chapters and presented research at the AEJMC, Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Academy, and the American Academy of Advertising (AAA).

Marcie Hinton

Dr. Marcie Hinton, assistant professor of public relations, teaches public relations publications, communications and principles. She is also a co-advisor of Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA). Her research interests include international public relations, travel journalism and female war correspondents, particularly Martha Gellhorn. She has been awarded two travel grants to plan course work and do research throughout Italy.

Dr. Hinton's research appears in such publications as the media issue of Race, Gender and Class and at conferences such as Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC). Before becoming a professor, Dr. Hinton served as the assistant editor for the Southern Living trade publications, did public relations for the Southern Living Cooking School and was an editor at Schroeder Publishing. Dr. Hinton holds degrees from University of Tennessee, Murray State University and Samford University.


Joon Soo Lim

Dr. Joon Soo Lim (Ph.D. University of Florida), assistant professor of public relations, teaches public relations principles, case studies in public relations and public relations publications. His research focuses on building theoretical models that explain the power of narratives and dialogical communication in public relations using social media. He also explores the role of narrative ethics and legitimacy in risk communication.

Dr. Lim has published articles in Journalism and Mass Communication Quarterly and Journal of Public Relations Research. He has also contributed three entries in the Encyclopedia of Political Communication.
