I'm the Associate Director of the MTSU Poll and an Assistant Professor in the School of Journalism , College of Mass Communication at Middle Tennessee State University. My health communication research deals primarily with news coverage of cancer and its impact on society. My public opinion and political communication research focus on communication policy, tolerance, freedom of expression, support for censorship, and candidate preference. I regularly teach courses on freedom of expression and quantitative research methods.
I earned my master's
and doctorate degrees from the School
of Communication at The Ohio State University.
And as a graduate student there, I was one of the founding members of
Communication, Opinion and Political
Studies Group. My bachelor's degree is from the Department
of Communication at Miami University.
