North American Women's Letters and Diaries (NAWLD) includes the immediate experiences of some 200 women, as revealed in more than 28,000 pages of diaries and letters. When complete (2002), the collection will include more than 150,000 pages of primary materials spanning more than 300 years. The advanced search allows one to limit a search to over 20 possible fields (e.g., age when writing, marital status, religion, occupation, etc.).
