Promotions
MKT 385
Promotions is a course designed to introduce the student to the communications aspects of marketing. Promotions will discuss all elements of the promotions mix including: advertising, sales promotion, personal selling and publicity/public relations management. The primary focus of the promotions course, however, is the development of a thorough understanding of the theoretical underpinnings of how persuasive tools work and the application of these theories to advertising campaigns.

Thursday, June 10 - Exam 1
HINT: You should bring one advertisement to class that you could critique for ethics problems. This will be your extra credit question - so make sure that you select a "good" ad to discuss with lots of ethics questions. Issues to discuss could include stereotyping, taste and decency, small print disqualitifcations, deception, etc.
