MSA Constitution


Article I

The name of this association shall be The Muslim Students Association (MSA).

Article II

The purpose of MSA shall be to provide a support group for Muslim students on campus, and to provide information about Islam to all interested persons.

Article III

  1. Membership shall be limited to currently enrolled MTSU students, spouses of students, faculty, and/or staff members.
  2. Membership shall not be denied to any person because of age, sex, race, religion, handicap, or national origin.
Article IV
No dues or other payment will be assessed or required of members.

Article V

The officers of the MSA shall be:

  1. President.
  2. Vice-President.
  3. Secretary.

The duties of officers shall be as follows:

  1. The president shall organize the MSA members meetings and various functions, including notifying members of times and changes in said plans.
  2. The Vice-President shall assist the President and assume leadership in the absence of the President.
  3. The Secretary shall keep most relevant paperwork and publish any newsletters, registration documents, and receipts.
  4. The term for each officer shall be for one year. Elections for officers will be by simple majority of members present and will be conducted at the first meeting of the Spring semester of each year. Newly elected officers will begin serving immediately after the election.
Article VI
Meetings of the MSA shall be held generally twice each month, with more meetings resulting from various functional needs as may be required for the efficient conduct of business.

Article VII

The constitution of the MSA may be amended by a majority vote of members present, providing the amendments having been distributed to the general membership prior to the meeting.

  • Happy Eid Al-Adha
