Here is more information about us:
Rhonda Waller, Director:
"I am new to Tennessee but incredibly excited to join the MTSU and Murfreesboro community. My passion for study abroad began when I studied in Oxford, England as an undergraduate nearly 15 years ago. Study abroad is an amazing path of discovery which begins the moment you open your mind to the possibility. I encourage all students to separate the myths from the facts of international education, as study abroad opportunities have become vastly more expansive in variety and much more inclusive than in the past. Let us help you gather all the information before deciding if and when study abroad makes sense for you."
"Since graduating college, I worked in Japan for three years as an English teacher on the JET (Japan Exchange Teaching) program. While on JET I had the great fortune to travel to China, Hong Kong, Philippines, and Thailand. Soon after returning from Japan I joined the field of international education and began advising students at the University of Missouri. Seven years of advising later, I have cultivated many relationships with colleagues abroad and have added the following countries to my travel resume: Australia, Canada, Jamaica, Russia, and South Korea. I have yet to be disappointed!"
Tiffany Huskey, Coordinator:"
While new to the study abroad field, I have worked in education and student services for over ten years. My job as the Coordinator is to assist you in selecting a study abroad program that best fits your interests and needs. Study abroad opportunities are available to all MTSU students, with or without foreign language skills, including graduate and non-traditional students. In addition to traditional study abroad programs, we also offer international internships and service learning abroad. If you’ve never before considered studying abroad for an entire semester or year, ask me about becoming an MTSU or ISEP exchange student. These programs are more affordable than you might think. Feel free to call or email me with any questions. See you soon for an advising session!"
Nicole Bellare, Graduate Assistant:
"My experience studying abroad is actually what led me to my current career path, International Business. I went to China as an undergraduate student through Belmont University and absolutely fell in love with the people, the culture, the history, and, of course, the food. Now, as a graduate student in the MBA program at MTSU, I enjoy sharing my passion for international travel with students from around the world. I have been to India, Singapore, Taiwan, China, Portugal, Mexico, and Jamaica and cannot wait to add to that list in the future. I look forward to meeting you, as well as assisting you with your study abroad plans in any way that I can."
